ART NOUVEAU AND OTHER EXPRESSIONS: REDISCOVERING THE ARCHITECTURE OF ESENWEIN & JOHNSON

February 23, 2015 by Scott Akdogan

03/22/2015 to 03/22/2015 – Forest Lawn frequently highlights the beautiful architecture on its manicured landscape on the tours we offer, and many famous WNY architects are buried at Forest Lawn. So, it only made sense to highlight one of Buffalo’s gleaming assets, its architecture, in our winter programming. Hosted by Martin Wachadlo, an architect and expert on Buffalo’s stock of historic buildings, this four part series will give you an in-depth look at the Buffalo architectural and cityscape timeline, and will highlight some of our most famous architects, Esenwein & Johnson and Edward Brodhead Green, Sr. (Esenwein and E.B. Green are both buried in Forest Lawn)
Esenwein & Johnson was one of the most active architectural practices in Buffalo at the turn of the twentieth century. The talk will highlight the research Wachadlo did on this firm and will cover the many accomplishments of this dynamic architect duo.
