The Elias String Quartet take their name from Mendelssohn’s oratorio, Elijah, of which Elias is its German form, and have quickly established themselves as one of the most intense and vibrant quartets of their generation. They perform around the world, collaborating with many different artists. The Quartet was formed in 1998 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where they worked closely with the late Dr. Christopher Rowland. They also spent a year studying at the Hochschule in Cologne with the Alban Berg quartet. Other mentors in the Quartet’s studies include Hugh Maguire, György Kurtág, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Henri Dutilleux and Rainer Schmidt.

03/03/2015 to 03/03/2015 – Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years with a long-established reputation as a performer, recording artist and producer. Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited, Hammond B-3 organ, and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become "Jam Band Music". From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals serves up a tasty mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up.

02/20/2015 to 02/20/2015 – Jonathan Scales Fourchestra is an interesting trio of musicians with some serious chops to show the world. In describing their sound, Scales says, "It’s hard to describe, even for me…but I’d say it’s not what people typically expect for the steel drums. I feel like we’re a jazz/funk trio, but I always wanted to do film scores, and I think that comes through." The group consists of Scales on steel drums, Cody Wright on bass, and Chaisaray Schenck on drums. Each and every one of the members in their own right are phenomenal musicians, but put them in a room together and what they produce is uncharted sonic magic. The trio hails from the musical hotbed of Asheville, North Carolina, and while they’ve been around, they are just now starting to pick up steam. When asked how they came to be, Scales says, "I started the Fourchestra in 2007 as a means to bring my original music to the world. Heavily influenced by Béla Fleck, I wanted to play with musicians who pushed boundaries on their instruments while playing music that challenged people’s perceptions of everything…and here we are today!"

Sutherland, who had a miraculously
low Bass voice. Like Naomi, Ms.
Fatta is a female Baritone, and will
perform live arias demonstrating
the low female singing voice, with
accompanist Roland E. Martin.
